 In this activity I want to talk about a special man in the agricultor world, his name is Carlos Eduardo Correa the Guardian of the Lemon.In the warm lands of the Colombian Caribbean, where the sun caresses strongly and the sea breeze carries with it the aroma of freshness, stands the figure of Carlos Eduardo Correa, a man whose name has been intertwined with the history of lemon cultivation in the region. Since his childhood, surrounded by family orchards and learning the secrets of the countryside, Carlos Eduardo has dedicated his life to perfecting the art of growing this emblematic citrus fruit. His passion for agriculture not only led him to become an expert in sustainable farming techniques, but also transformed him into a tireless advocate for local farmers' rights. In a time where the threats of climate change and market fluctuations put producers in check, Carlos Eduardo emerges as a beacon of hope and resilience. Through his work at Agropecuaria El Limón, he has managed to not only improve the quality of his product, but also empower the agricultural community that surrounds him

Carlos Eduardo Correa: A Life Dedicated to the Defense of the Environment Carlos Eduardo Correa was born on April 23, 1973, in Bogotá, Colombia. From a young age, he showed a deep connection to nature and an awareness of environmental issues. Growing up in a country rich in biodiversity yet facing significant ecological challenges, Carlos developed a passion for protecting the environment. He pursued his studies in Environmental Engineering at the National University of Colombia, where he excelled academically and began to forge his path as an environmental advocate. After graduating, Correa began working with various environmental organizations, where he gained practical experience in conservation projects. His early career was marked by a commitment to understanding the intricate balance between human activity and ecological preservation. This foundational period shaped his vision for sustainable development and equipped him with the knowledge needed to tackle complex environmental issues. In 2018, Carlos was appointed as the Minister of Environment and Sustainable Development of Colombia. This role was a culmination of years of hard work and dedication to environmental advocacy. As Minister, he faced numerous challenges, including deforestation and climate change. With determination, he launched initiatives aimed at promoting sustainable agricultural practices and protecting Colombia’s vast natural resources. Correa's leadership style is characterized by collaboration and inclusivity. He believes that involving local communities is essential for successful environmental policies. Under his guidance, programs were developed that empowered farmers to adopt ecofriendly practices while ensuring their economic stability. His efforts not only aimed at preserving Colombia’s ecosystems but also sought to improve the quality of life for its citizens. Throughout his career, Carlos Eduardo Correa has represented Colombia on international platforms, advocating for global cooperation on environmental issues.
